SPENGA CREW Spotlight: Erin C.
"I have spent pretty much my entire life playing sports. Literally. I grew up watching my brother wrestle and my earliest memories are wrestling other siblings on the mats during breaks. Sports continued for me all the way into college. So, when it came to actually having to go to the gym to work out after I had my first two kids, I needed something that made me feel strong and athletic.
My first group fitness experience was through Les Mills. I had a friend who told me that I would love a BODYPUMP class and she was right. I was hooked after one class. Not only did I love the format, I was in love with the group fitness format. Being in a group with people who wanted to work hard totally motivated me. Not long after, I signed up for my first training for BODYPUMP. After passing that training, I soon was getting certified in Les Mills CXWORX and GRIT formats and in between, I got certified in TRX and went through an advanced instructor module for BODYPUMP. My biggest accomplishment in the last eight years of being a group fitness instructor is being able to be an assistant trainer at the Biggest Loser Resort when it was in Itasca. I learned so much from the guests there not only to better my personal life, but it completely changed the way I trained the members in my classes thereafter. It was a different perspective for me.
SPENGA came into my life after my third child. I had been teaching Les Mills for a long time and needed a change. SPENGA was it! I loved the 20/20/20 format...YOU CAN DO ANYTHING FOR 20 MINUTES!!! I tell everyone that I have workout ADD so the short length of time in each format was perfect for me. I LOVE picking out my own music. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. The perfect playlist alone can make or break a workout. But what I love the most about SPENGA are the members. They are truly an extension of my family!"
